"It's Homophobia That's Queer"
New community service annoucement from GALE and RTR-FM!
With the assistance of GALE's principal radio partner, RTR-FM 92.1, GALE is launching a broad community homophobia awareness campaign to start from mid-May and to coincide with International Day Against Homophobia! Here's the script of one of the community service announcements - the Janine radio spot.
Janine's 35, and loves her job being a security guard.
She's shy and keeps her private life to herself, but she's tough on the job.
Some workmates think she's a [censor bleep], one or two think she's a [censor bleep] who just needs to meet the right man.
And although they think Janine might be a lesbian, they're wrong.
It's homophobia that's hurting her and others like her.
May 17 is International Day Against Homophobia.
You can help put an end to homophobia by talking about it with friends and family.
Because it's homophobia that's queer, not Janine.
